CEO

John McCready is CEO and founder of Dunamis Energy.  Prior to being part of Dunamis Energy, John served as CEO of Great Western Petroleum, a DJ Basin focused oil and gas producer, which sold to PDC Energy in May 2022.  Prior to Great Western, John served in several executive positions at Samson Resources, Felix Energy II and Felix Water including most recently as CEO of Felix Water which sold to Pilot Water Solutions in March 2021.  John was an investment banker at BofA Merrill Lynch focused primarily on the oil and gas sector prior to entering the corporate side of the industry.  He is a former armor officer having served in the 3rd Infantry Division. He has a BA in History and Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an MBA from Duke’s Fuqua School of Business.

Chief Financial Officer

Seth Foreman serves as Chief Financial Officer of Dunamis Energy and has more than 10 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.  He most recently served as the co-founder and Chief Financial Officer of Mallard Exploration from 2017 through its sale in 2023.  Mallard Exploration was a DJ-basin focused upstream company backed by NGP.  Prior to that, Mr. Foreman held multiple finance roles at Extraction Oil & Gas from its inception in 2013 through its Initial Public Offering on the NASDAQ in late 2016.  Extraction was a DJ-basin focused upstream company backed predominantly by Yorktown.  Mr. Foreman holds a Master of Business Administration from the Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver and a Bachelor of Arts from Bucknell University.

EVP of Asset Evaluation and Technical Review

Ben Jackson serves as EVP of Asset Evaluation and Technical Review for Dunamis Energy.  Prior to joining Dunamis Energy, Ben served as President and CEO of FourPass Energy where he led an acquisition team who participated in over 30 transactions, valued over $20.0B in 3 years. Prior to FourPass, Ben was previously the Vice President of Engineering of Felix Energy, where he led and worked alongside the team that in 7 years built and sold over $6.0B of upstream, midstream, and mineral assets in the Anadarko and Delaware Basins. Ben also held asset team lead roles at Samson Resources and ConocoPhillips. Ben holds a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Oklahoma.

SVP of Upstream Operations

Scott Hansen serves as SVP of Upstream Operations at Dunamis Energy. Scott served as SVP of Operations at Great Western Petroleum, a DJ basin oil and gas producer that was sold to PDC Energy in May 2022.  Prior to Great Western Scott served in various manager roles at Samson Resources, Crowheart Energy, and QEP Resources including as General Manager of Operations at both Samson Resources and QEP Resources which sold to Diamondback Energy in 2021.  Prior to Samson Resources Scott was an engineer at both Halliburton and Shell Western E&P Co.  He grew up in rural Montana hand earned a BS in Petroleum Engineering from Montana Tech.

SVP of Midstream Operations

Rick Opat serves as SVP of Midstream Operations at Dunamis Energy.  Rick has nearly 20 years of industry experience spanning the DJ, Permian, Gulf of Mexico, Uinta, Bakken, Mid-Con, and Eagle Ford basins for companies like Shell, Newfield/Ovintiv, Tracker Resources, Felix II, Great Western Petroleum, PDC Energy, and Chevron.  He has consistently demonstrated a strong track record providing engineering, project management, and operations leadership with respect to surface facilities, midstream systems, gas processing, oil/gas/water gathering, water injection, source water, and reuse for upstream operations. Rick served as the COO of Felix Midstream and Felix Water, leading high performing teams in the build of these premier Delaware Basin midstream assets which transacted for ~$700MM in total consideration. He recently consulted for the management team at Great Western Petroleum supporting a number of key objectives during the sale and transition to PDC Energy. Rick obtained his BS and MS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin – Madison.

VP of Land

Jordan Mattson serves as Vice President – Land for Dunamis Energy.  Jordan was previously co-founder and Vice President – Land at Mallard Exploration from 2017 through the sale of the company in 2023.  Mallard Exploration was a DJ Basin upstream focused company with sponsorship from NGP Energy Capital.  Ultimately Mallard amassed over 40k net acres, drilled 70 horizontal wells with peak production around 30k BO/D.  Jordan started his career with Chesapeake Energy in Oklahoma City working on new ventures during the shale boom, then he accepted an opportunity to work for Encana Oil & Gas focused on the DJ Basin and Encana’s entrance into the Permian Basin.  Jordan holds a B.A. in Energy Management and Entrepreneurship from Western Colorado University and is a Certified Professional Landman via the American Association of Professional Landmen.

Regulatory Manager

Erin Mathews serves as Regulatory Manager of Dunamis Energy. Erin was previously the Vice President of Development for Mallard Exploration where she led efforts with the Bureau of Land Management, State of Colorado, and local jurisdictions to obtain permits for Mallad's 70 horizontal wells and build permit inventory. Prior to Mallard Exploration, Erin served as the Regulatory Manager of Extraction Oil and Gas focusing on permitting urban locations within the DJ Basin. Erin has a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Colorado State University and is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Colorado.

Office Manager

Tara Patten serves as the Office Manager for Dunamis energy. Tara was previously the Executive Assistant and Office Manager for EOG Resources Denver Division, where she played a key role in streamlining operations and supporting executive leadership. Tara brings over 15 years of administrative experience, including a decade of dedicated service in the Oil & Gas industry. Known for her organizational expertise, attention to detail, and strong leadership skills, she is committed to fostering efficient workplace environments and supporting strategic business goals. Tara holds a B.S. in Business Administration and graduated magna cum laude from Southern New Hampshire University.
